Sounds of Sunday

Interactive Design
In this collaboration with Kelly Nolan and Anissa Martinez, we mapped a Sunday with sound. Through abstracting both the sounds and images of the objects that made the sounds, we created an immersive and relaxing experience that also promoted curiosity and discovery. We used an Arduino board and conductive paint to turn a pedestal into a touchable and responsive surface. We took macro photographs of everyday objects like toothpaste and keys and projected them above the pedestal, giving them a sense of larger-than-life wonder. This project was the first time I had used design to create an immersive and interactive installation that was supposed to invoke a feeling in the audience. |
